Learn about Indoor Cycling and Weight Loss.

Now is the time of year where many of you start thinking about your "new year's resolution." Statistics show that millions of Americans will decide to begin to live a more healthy lifestyle and strive for weight loss. That was my decision last year. I had worked out before and had varied results depending on what I did. Last year, however, I discovered something new. I joined a new gym around the corner that offered Indoor Cycling class, so one day I decided to go in and try it. It wore me out! I knew that nothing I had ever done had made me feel that drained before and because of that, I knew it must be a good thing. Indoor Cycling is something that anyone can do. You work at your own pace regardless of what everyone else in the Indoor Cycling class is doing. It's dark most of the time, so you never have to feel self-conscious about whether or not you have the right amount of resistance on. Indoor Cycling is better than running because it is much lighter on the knees and other parts of the leg that hurt quite painfully when you're not a "runner." In short, it is the ultimate non-impact sport!

Research has shown that an average 40 minute Indoor Cycling class will help you burn around 500 calories. I challenge you to equal that efficiency with any of the other advertised "low-impact" exercises. The caloric dispersion can even go higher depending on the intensity of your workout, so push yourself if you can. It is also a good new year's resolution starter because you can stick with it year round. Indoor Cycling is not affected by weather or other adverse conditions you may find when exercising outdoors.

Indoor Cycling has helped me achieve my New Year's Resolution better than any other exercise. Since last January, I have lost 35 pounds and gained muscle. Most of this weight loss was done by participating in Indoor Cycling classes. I encourage everyone who is looking for a way to lose weight to try Indoor Cycling this year.
