Thinking about going to Indoor Cycling class? Learn what you'll need to bring.
A few things you should take with you to spin class:
You WILL sweat... alot. Trust me when I say that by the end, your towel will be soaking wet. My favorite kind of towel for Indoor Cycling is a Comfi Towel, they feel great, fit great on the bike, and can hold things like your keys and mp3 player in the pockets.
Water
All that sweating can leave you dehydrated if you are not constantly hydrating yourself during spin class. Instructors will give you a few seconds in-between exercises for a water break. Tip: I use old water bottles, fill them half-way with water, and freeze them over night. Right before spin class I take my half ice water bottle and fill the rest of it up with water. That way the water is cool and refreshing during spin class and by the end of it my ice has usually melted.
Comfortable workout clothes
You will need workout clothes that allow for free movement. The fabrics that pull sweat away from your body leaving you cool and dry are always nice for Indoor Cycling.
If you get serious about Indoor Cycling a heart rate monitor watch is useful. Its certainly not necessary to start, and many instructors allow you to count your heart rate at the end of the workout to gauge your effort. However, if you are serious about weight-loss, a heart rate monitor can help you count calories burned and make your weight-loss calculation easier.
